Please join us for the first Milford Education Foundation book club! We’ll be discussing the popular book, The Scorpio Races. Haven’t read the book yet? There are many copies available at the Milford Public Library.
Kids book clubs promote a lifelong love of reading and important language and literacy skills. By discussing a book with peers, your child will be exposed to new vocabulary, ideas, and concepts.
FOR GRADES 5-8 – LIMITED TO 12 CHILDREN – LIGHT REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED
ABOUT THE BOOK
Based on the legends of the eich uisce — the Celtic water horse — The Scorpio Races takes place on the tiny, fictional island of Thisby. Each November, water horses emerge from the black ocean and gallop the beach beneath the cliffs of Thisby. And each November, men capture these horses for a thrilling race.
Please reserve your spot on our Facebook event page or email firstname.lastname@example.org

On July 17, 2013 a group of Milford kids came together at the Margaret Egan Center to take apart an old or broken appliance. Sikorsky engineer John Bassett was there to answer questions and explain some of the electrical and mechanical marvels we discovered!
This event was free and open to kids K-3rd with a parent. We had such a good time we’re sure to do it again! Like Milford Education Foundation on Facebook so you never miss our fun, free and educational events!
