Minds In Motion Milford 2014

(We’re catching up with some posts after a busy few months!)

In mid-March the Milford Education Foundation held the very popular, half-day student enrichment program, Minds in Motion Milford, which features hands-on, interactive, high-interest workshops. Both parents and students who attended the event at Jonathan Law High School said they couldn’t wait to come back next year! (Minds in Motion is a signature enrichment program of the CT Association for the Gifted.)

About 150 kids enrolled in a choice of 32 classes including Shadow Puppet Circus, American Sign Language, Yoga, Song Writing Workshop, Modern Dance, Junior Vet, Acting From the Inside Out, Lego Mindstorms Robotics, Engineering a Kaleidoscope, and many more.

While the kids enjoyed their classes, their parents were invited to the keynote address Raising Children to be Lifelong Learners by Judy Primovera. There were also a selection of parent workshops. Some of the topics covered were gifted children, common core, effective parenting, and healthy eating.

At the Vendor Hall exhibitors presented classes, books, and other educational resources for purchase.
